Majorca Holidays

Majorca is to be found in the Balearic Islands - a group of lush and scenic islands that lie off the Eastern coast of Spain.
Majorca is extremely popular with European tourists and holidaymakers. There's lots to do and see and the hospitality of the people is legendary.
You can get around in Majorca with ease and the choice is really yours. You can travel by local bus, by tour bus or maybe even hire a car or a motor bike. Car hire is probably the best option for most.
Majorca will never leave you bored. There is enough going on to keep even the fussiest happy and engrossed. You can see the Roman city of Alcudia and the small traditional township of Valldemossa. Chopin used to come here for holiday breaks and the first tourists to visit Majorca headed for Valldemossa in the early eighteen hundreds.
The citadel of Alcudia is always worth a visit. It has a fully restored walled city situated on top of the site of a Roman settlement. You will find the remains of Roman houses and even an amphitheatre. Alcudia is a city full of history and makes for an interesting visit if you are interested in the heritage and culture of Majorca.
The small town of Valldemossa is also well known for the Roya Carthusian Monastery which has white-arched corridors with museums on various themes enclosed.
Eating and drinking in Majorca is a real treat and the memories will stay with you long after your holiday ends.
Majorcan cooking is mostly built around fish, pork and vegetables mostly prepared with olive oil and garlic in abundance.
Majorca does have local vineyards but most of what you can buy in bars and restaurants is imported from Spain and there are a variety of other alcoholic drinks available such as brandy (coñac) and beer (cerveza). Tap water is safe to drink but most people choose mineral water.
The island of Majorca is a magical place - come visit it soon.
